Raúl González wore Spain's #10 shirt at the 1998 World Cup in France at just 21 years old — already the nation's most dangerous forward. He had broken into the Real Madrid first team two seasons earlier and his composure, movement and finishing were ahead of his years. Spain were eliminated from Group D despite a Raúl goal against Nigeria, but the tournament confirmed him as one of Europe's most exciting young forwards.

Raúl went on to make 741 appearances for Real Madrid — a club record at the time — and scored 323 goals, winning six La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues. He captained the club for years and wore the #7 shirt at club level before Spain's #10. This 1998 shirt is from the beginning of a career that made him one of the most celebrated forwards in Spanish football history.
