Earl 'The Goat' Manigault is widely regarded as the greatest street basketball player who ever lived — a player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar described as the most talented he had ever seen. Drug addiction derailed what should have been a professional career — Manigault was never able to sustain the straight path required to reach the NBA despite his extraordinary talent. He later turned his life around and ran youth basketball programmes in Harlem for decades. His story is one of basketball's great tragedies and one of its most important redemption narratives.
