Bill Walton wore #33 at Helix High School in La Mesa, California — the same school that later produced Reggie Bush — before becoming one of the most dominant college players in NCAA history at UCLA under John Wooden. At Helix, Walton was already 6'11" and showing the passing, footwork and defensive ability that would make him a two-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer.

At UCLA, Walton led the Bruins to two national championships (1972 and 1973) and went 86-4 across three seasons. He won the 1977 NBA title with Portland and the 1986 title with Boston. He was also one of basketball's great personalities — outspoken, politically active and deeply philosophical. This Helix High #33 throwback is from before any of that, the very start of a legendary journey.
