1999 Alessandro Nesta #13 Lazio Home Vintage Soccer Jersey

Alessandro Nesta wore #13 for Lazio and captained the club to their historic 1999/2000 Serie A title — their first Scudetto since 1974 and the last time a club outside the traditional powerhouses dominated Italian football for a sustained period. Nesta was already regarded as one of the finest defenders in Europe: his reading of the game, positioning and ability to win the ball without fouling made him the technical standard for Italian centre-backs of his era.

Nesta left Lazio for AC Milan in 2002 for €30.9 million and went on to win two Champions Leagues, adding to his Lazio title and 2006 World Cup winner's medal with Italy. He was named in the FIFA 100 list of the greatest living players. The 1999 Lazio home shirt is from his finest season as the club's leader — the year the Biancocelesti stood at the top of Italian football.
