Pete Maravich is the greatest scorer in NCAA history, averaging 44.2 points per game across three seasons at LSU from 1968 to 1970 — achieving this without a shot clock and without the three-point line. His 3,667 total points in college remain the record. Wearing #23 as 'Pistol Pete', Maravich's behind-the-back passes, between-the-legs dribbles and off-balance shooting were decades ahead of their time — a style of play that the NBA wouldn't fully embrace until the 1990s.

Maravich was drafted 3rd overall by the Atlanta Hawks in 1970 and averaged 24.8 points per game across his NBA career. He scored 68 points in a single game against the Knicks in 1977 — a record at the time. He died of a heart condition at 40 while playing a pickup game, having never fully exploited his gifts in the right team context. The Basketball Hall of Fame inducted him in 1987. This vintage 70s jersey honours one of the most naturally gifted offensive players the sport has produced.
